Markent Personnel, Inc. in Bridgeview, IL is seeking a Junior Controls Engineer for an on-site role in a highly automated facility.
The position focuses on PLC programming, electrical troubleshooting, and controls maintenance to keep robotic lines and packaging systems running smoothly. The ideal candidate has PLC experience or strong technical training, reads schematics, and can work with VFDs, servos, and HMI interfaces.
Qualifications
- BS, AAS, or technical certifications in controls or electrical systems
- 1+ years of hands-on PLC programming and electrical troubleshooting
- Strong technical education with limited field experience considered
- Ability to read control schematics and electrical drawings
- Familiarity with VFDs, servos, HMI interfaces, and industrial networks
- Mechanical aptitude for repairing pneumatic and electrical components
- Local candidates only
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and maintain electrical and electronic systems on production equipment
- Adjust and troubleshoot PLC programs to diagnose issues
- Read and interpret wiring schematics and control drawings
- Tune machines, VFDs, and servos via HMI interfaces
- Install electrical conduit and raceway per electrical codes
- Pull wires and repair electrical and pneumatic components
- Work with internal teams and external contractors
