Job summary

SMX is seeking an entry-level IT Storefront Specialist to provide front-line IT support and admin assistance for NMCI users in a full-time, on-site role in Patuxent River, MD. You will help issue equipment, track inventory, document work, and assist with basic hardware/software needs, collaborating with teammates to ensure smooth operations from day one.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance preferred; US Citizenship required for DoD work.

Responsibilities

• Support NMCI computer deployment and end-user distribution.
• Assist with exchange of problematic computers when applicable.
• Support turn-in and collection of equipment for exiting employees.
• Distribute standard IT peripherals (headsets, microphones, cameras, keyboards, mice).
• Track issued equipment and maintain accurate records.
• Assist with New Employee Check-In and equipment provisioning.
• Verify new user accounts and systems function on day one.
• Support NMCI laptop/desktop refresh efforts for users.
• Provide basic guidance during technology refresh processes.
• Ensure users understand how to operate newly issued equipment.
