Job summary

The Information Systems Security Officer role at Kratos KSRE Inc Birmingham supports the day-to-day operations and security of classified information systems, reporting to the ISSM and augmenting the security and IT staff for unclassified networks.

This on-site position requires implementing RMF per DCSA/JSIG, producing BoE documentation, maintaining security posture, and serving on the Change Control Board while assisting security and IT teams as needed.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of US Government (DoD) IS security policies.
• Strong communication, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work in a team environment.
• Active in-scope TOP SECRET clearance with ability to obtain SCI/SAP access.
• DoD 8140/8570 Technician Level 2-3 certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Serve as ISSO for Kratos KSRE Inc Birmingham.
• Implement the RMF for classified systems per DCSA/DAAG/JSIG and coordinate with authorities.
• Serve as primary resource for classified systems.
• Produce and maintain BoE documentation including risk assessments, SSPs, and POA&Ms.
• Maintain day-to-day security posture and continuous monitoring (patching, updates).
• Member of the Change Control Board (CCB).
• Assist Information Security in unclassified security operations (monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management).
• Assist IT in unclassified services functions.
• Other duties as assigned.
