Job summary

KRI is hiring an on-site Product Development Engineer for our Fort Collins team, working on complex ion source products and related systems. You will bridge research to engineering and production with an emphasis on manufacturability and cost savings.

Required a bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent, solid math skills, and experience with high vacuum and plasma processes. You will contribute to design reviews and collaborate with the R&D team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Strong math skills and good manual dexterity for experiments.
  • Experience with high vacuum systems and ion/plasma processes desirable.
  • Ability to work on multiple complex projects and communicate findings.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and print reading.

Responsibilities

  • Design electromechanical products applying static analysis and heat transfer principles.
  • Review designs for engineering soundness and compliance.
  • Build and test ion sources and plasma sources with thorough documentation.
  • Run plasma processes including deposition and etching.
  • Analyze data and report progress to the R&D team.
  • Lead design reviews and manage projects to timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with customers and other departments on product improvements.
  • Develop and implement engineering standards and procedures.
