Job summary

SAIC in Middletown, RI is seeking a Stock Clerk to join our facilities team. The role focuses on stocking tasks including receipts, inventories, and material handling to support production schedules.

Responsibilities include receiving, unpacking, reporting damages, moving parts between buildings, and ensuring accurate inventory while complying with safety standards. A High School Diploma/GED and US citizenship with ability to obtain SECRET clearance are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/ GED and zero (0) experience.
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures concerning stocking tasks such as receipts, invoices, weights, updating of inventory, inspection, methods of storage.
• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.

Responsibilities

• Receiving, unpacking materials/supplies and reporting damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement and record keeping purposes; and completing shipping and receiving reports.
• Move parts and assemblies within or between various buildings in accordance with Facility manager or facility staff engineer priorities.
• Arrange transfer of materials to meet production schedules; examine material to verify type specified for current project; and compute amount of material needed for specific job orders.
• Be able to safely complete all of the physical demands of the job in a manufacturing environment, including but not limited to the following: lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis; walking, bending, stooping, sitting, standing or squatting for extended periods; Walk distances of at least one-half mile daily.
