Job summary

The Language Doctors, Inc. is expanding its on-site interpreter network in Texas and seeks experienced interpreters for local assignments in Houston and nearby areas.

We welcome interpreters in any language who can reliably support appointments with confidentiality and professionalism. Responsibilities include consecutive interpretation (and occasional simultaneous), arriving on time, and coordinating with clients and The Language Doctors for scheduling and check-in details.

Qualifications

• Professional fluency in English and at least one additional language.
• Minimum 1 year interpreting experience in medical, legal, education, community, or corporate settings.
• Strong punctuality, reliability, and professional communication.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel within your coverage area.
• Interpreter training or certification is preferred but not required for all assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, professional on-site consecutive interpretation (and simultaneous when applicable).
• Arrive on time and follow client/site procedures during the appointment.
• Confirm assignments promptly and communicate scheduling details to The Language Doctors.
• Adhere to professional codes of ethics, including impartiality and confidentiality.
• Complete onboarding steps and assignment documentation as required.
