Job summary

The Metropolitan Council seeks a Manager of Industrial Safety to lead safety programs across Metro Transit and related facilities. This role ensures safe work practices, regulatory compliance, and effective training, including leading safety staff and coordinating with regulators.

Primary on-site work with occasional remote flexibility; travel between facilities in the Twin Cities region is required. Minnesota or Wisconsin residence is preferred for this leadership position.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 3 years of management experience supervising safety programs.
• Experience developing and implementing safety objectives and training.
• Knowledge of Federal and State OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to analyze safety data and present results to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages safety programs and training for employees.
• Acts as liaison to regulatory agencies and leadership on safety matters.
• Leads safety staff performance reviews and coaching.
• Maintains AWAIR compliance and safety committees.
• Tracks safety metrics and reports results to leadership.
• Communicates changes to OSHA standards to the organization.
