Job summary

Bowhead seeks an Industrial Engineer to join our team, providing program management support for US Navy clients. The engineer will evaluate manufacturing practices, manage production schedules, and improve production processes across four public shipyards.

On-site work is required at Norfolk, Bremerton, or Washington, DC, with travel to other shipyards as needed. Candidates should have shipyard experience and 7+ years in industrial or manufacturing engineering, with strong modeling and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial, mechanical, manufacturing, civil engineering or related field (e.g., Modeling and Simulation, Production Management).
  • 7+ years of experience as an Industrial or Manufacturing Engineer in shipyards, production facilities, warehouses, or machine shops to improve productivity and quality.
  • Shipyard experience is required.
  • Masters in Engineering may substitute for some experience.
  • Willingness to travel to other shipyards.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate current manufacturing practices and production layouts.
  • Manage production schedules and track layouts, using modeling and simulation to optimize flow.
  • Improve production processes across multiple shipyards to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce waste and optimize material handling and logistics.
  • Utilize data analysis to create reports for leadership and stakeholders.
