Job summary

Bowhead seeks an Industrial Engineer to join our team providing program management support for US Navy clients. The role will evaluate current manufacturing practices, manage production schedules, and improve production processes across the four public shipyards (PHNS, PSNS, PNSY, NNSY) on behalf of PMO 555.

This position could allow for up to 2 days telecommuting (after at least 90 days) and on-site at the DC Naval Shipyard (Washington Navy Yard).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (industrial, mechanical, manufacturing or civil) or related field.
• Four or more years of relevant industrial/manufacturing engineering experience.
• Masters in Engineering considered in lieu of some experience.
• Travel to shipyards will be required; shipyard experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate current manufacturing practices and production layouts.
• Manage production schedules and analyze productivity using math and data.
• Lead process improvements for lean operations and cost estimation.
• Support modeling and simulation efforts across shipyards and PMO 555.
• Communicate technical recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
