IAPMO Group is seeking a Commercial Building Inspector (ICC Certified) for Newark, NJ. The role involves on-site inspections and plan reviews to ensure compliance with IBC, ICC standards, and NJ regulations.

The candidate will verify structural and life-safety installations, coordinate with stakeholders, and enforce safety at the job site, including specialized access protocols where applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (plus field experience) OR
• Associate degree in Engineering Technology (plus 3+ years field inspection) OR
• High school diploma/GED with 5+ years direct commercial construction inspection experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform On-Site Inspections of commercial buildings, additions, and structural components.
• Code Compliance Verification for workmanship, framing, foundations, fire protection, and envelopes.
• Plan Review of architectural, structural, and site drawings for code compliance.
• Documentation & Reporting with daily inspection reports and punch lists.
• Coordinate with contractors, PMs, engineers, developers, and officials to resolve issues.
• Enforce Safety & Site Rules, OSHA guidelines, and access protocols.
