Hired-By-Matrix, Inc. in New York is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead HVAC projects on-site. This direct-hire role runs from estimating turnover through commissioning, with emphasis on execution plans, budgets, schedules, and field coordination.

You will supervise project managers, foremen, and crews, monitor costs and margins, address delays, ensure safety, and drive consistent procedures across projects. This role requires strong leadership and timely decision-making.

• Experience executing projects safely, profitably, and on schedule.
• Ability to oversee project managers, field supervision, client, and project performance.
• Capability to manage day-to-day construction operations, focusing on business direction, key relationships, and major decisions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from estimating turnover through installation, startup, commissioning, and closeout, ensuring each project has a workable execution plan.
• Hold project managers accountable for budgets, schedules, purchasing, documentation, change orders, billing support, and customer communication.
• Coordinate superintendents and foremen, assign crews, forecast labor needs, and resolve competing demands between projects.
• Review job costs, labor productivity, committed costs, and estimated cost to complete. Identify margin erosion early and direct corrective action.
• Monitor major milestones, equipment deliveries, subcontractors, and coordination with other trades. Address delays before they disrupt the field.
• Ensure teams identify, document, price, and pursue changes promptly, with appropriate authorization.
• Enforce installation standards, inspections, testing, safety practices, and correction of deficiencies.
• Handle escalated project issues with general contractors, owners, and construction managers. Support project managers in resolving disputes.
• Develop project managers and field leaders, address performance problems, and establish consistent procedures across projects.
