Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced HVAC/Controls technician to start and commission new systems and diagnose environmental-control systems at customer sites. You will serve as the primary customer contact and handle service on assigned projects, applying DDC knowledge in diverse commercial settings.

The role requires 3–5 years of HVAC/Controls experience, EPA preferred, a valid driver's license, and willingness to overtime, including occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Typically at least 3–5 years of experience in HVAC/Controls.
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Working proficiency with handheld computers (i.e. Smartphone, iPad).
• Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months.
• No major or frequent traffic violations in the past 3 years.
• Previous experience with DDC controls systems preferred.
• EPA preferred.
• Ability to work overtime and weeks as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Start and commission new systems.
• Diagnose and repair environmental-control systems.
• Apply knowledge of electronics, direct digital control, airflow, refrigeration theory, and control and mechanical techniques in diverse commercial settings.
• Serve as the direct customer contact.
• Service products and equipment on assigned projects.
• Identify, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems at customer locations.
• Coordinate with the team leader and customer to understand requirements for on-site installations and repairs.
• Forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work.
• Maintain current knowledge of Trane products for installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems.
• Enforce safety standards.
• Maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets by recording use, wear, and conditions.
• Maintain flexibility to work overtime and weeks as business requires, including occasional overnight stays.
