Job summary

Ambient Enterprises is seeking a highly skilled Controls Technician to install, program, and troubleshoot DDC systems in commercial and industrial HVAC applications. You will lead a team of technicians and collaborate with engineers and project managers to implement precise control sequences.

The role requires hands-on experience with Niagara 4, Johnson Controls, Distech, and Honeywell platforms, plus strong problem-solving, documentation, and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as an HVAC controls technician with DDC focus.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls and equipment.
• Proficiency in programming and configuring DDC controllers.
• Experience integrating DDC with BMS and automation platforms.
• Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks and related protocols.
• Ability to read control schematics, wiring diagrams and specs.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Leadership experience supervising a technician team; certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, and commission DDC systems for HVAC equipment.
• Conduct system testing, verification, and troubleshooting for optimal performance.
• Collaborate with engineering and project management to design control strategies.
• Lead a team of technicians for installations, repairs, and upgrades of DDC systems.
• Provide training and technical guidance to junior technicians.
• Perform regular system maintenance and preventive measures.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to DDC and HVAC systems.
• Maintain records of configurations, changes, and updates.
• Stay current with industry advancements and best practices.
