Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Columbus, IN is seeking a Health, Safety and Environment Leader-Moderate Complexity to foster a strong HSE culture, lead risk assessments, and drive compliance across site operations.

You will develop training programs, manage audits, and coordinate with regulatory agencies to ensure safety improvements and environmental sustainability while building capable, high-performing teams. This exempt role reports to the Plant Manager and requires 5–7 years of experience with 1–2 years

Qualifications

• College/university degree in Occupational Health, Safety, or Environmental required.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience with 1–2 years of management experience.
• Professional HSE certification preferred; ISO standards experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Foster a strong HSE culture through partnerships across functions.
• Lead hazard identifications, environmental reviews, and risk assessments.
• Establish HSE objectives and improvement plans aligned with goals.
• Develop training programs and enhance employee engagement.
• Provide expert leadership on regulatory compliance and incident investigations.
• Drive improvements using data, audits, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies, legal teams, and stakeholders.
