Job summary

Akima Mission Optimization (AMO) in Dahlgren, VA is seeking a Human Resources Staffing and Classification Program Analyst to provide on‑site support at NSWC Dam Neck. The role supports Corporate Operations, HR Staffing/Classification in staffing, classification and recruitment efforts.

You will manage the full onboarding lifecycle, oversee offers and pre‑employment requirements, and respond to HR inquiries with professional guidance. Federal HR processes and DoD clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Interim‑Secret clearance or higher.
• Associate degree in Human Resources or related field, OR 3+ years HR experience.
• At least 1 year in HR recruitment, onboarding, training, and program management (2+ preferred).
• Ability to work independently, exercise discretion, manage priorities, and make informed decisions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Highly detail‑oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Customer‑focused with ability to provide professional guidance and support.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced knowledge of the federal hiring and onboarding process to support NSWCDD HR office in Dam Neck, Virginia.
• Lead and oversee staffing and hiring activities, track applicants, assess status updates, and make recommendations.
• Oversee use of SharePoint or other systems to manage hiring workflows and ensure data accuracy.
• Review and validate employee records in DCPDS and oversee processing of personnel actions for new hires and current employees.
• Manage full onboarding lifecycle, ensuring timely offers, pre‑employment requirements, and onboarding milestones.
• Respond to complex HR inquiries with discretion and escalation as needed.
• Lead review and validation of SF‑50s for accuracy and compliance.
• Lead HR support for New Employee Orientation (NEO) including planning and presenting HR materials.
