Job summary

Amicus Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support employees, managers and leadership across a busy, project-driven construction environment in Michigan City, IN. This hands-on role covers the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, payroll support and compliance, with opportunities to influence HR processes and workforce planning.

Qualifications

• Construction industry experience is required.
• Experience as an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, HR Business Partner or similar role.
• Strong experience across employee relations, recruiting, onboarding and HR administration.
• Working knowledge of benefits and payroll support.
• Strong understanding of HR compliance and employment practices.
• Experience supporting both salaried and hourly employees.
• Comfortable working with field teams, Superintendents, Project Managers and senior leadership.
• Ability to work full-time on site in Michigan City, Indiana.

Responsibilities

• Support recruiting and hiring activities across field and office-based positions.
• Coordinate onboarding, new hire documentation and orientation.
• Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR policies and procedures.
• Support employee relations matters and workplace concerns.
• Assist with performance management and employee development processes.
• Support benefits administration and employee enquiries.
• Provide payroll support, including employee changes, timekeeping and payroll-related documentation.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
• Support HR compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
• Assist with investigations, corrective action and documentation where required.
• Coordinate leave, attendance and employee status changes.
• Support workforce planning and staffing needs across active construction projects.
• Partner with leadership to improve HR processes and employee experience.
• Support wider HR operations as the business and project teams continue to grow.
