Job summary

Hotel Contessa, part of HEI Hotels and Resorts, is seeking an Engineer I for on-site maintenance at the San Antonio, TX property. The role focuses on maintaining building systems and the building envelope to ensure guest safety and comfort, with emphasis on energy efficiency and compliance with SOPs and codes.

The ideal candidate will have vocational training in HVAC/Electrical/Plumbing/Carpentry, hotel maintenance experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Vocational schooling, military training, certification and/or experience in building related trades required.
• Hotel or hospitality maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative maintenance and report work orders (replacing ceiling tiles, bulbs, etc.).
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (e.g., room care).
• Check electrical systems: AC controls, TVs, lighting; perform minor repairs.
• Assist with major repairs of hotel equipment including HVAC, pools, boilers, kitchen and laundry equipment.
• Service the hotel's pool and maintain chemical levels and filters.
