Job summary

Hoar is seeking a Hoist Operator to support the jobsite by transporting workers, equipment, and material to various floors of the building and helping to maintain a safe work environment.

Responsibilities include pre-shift hoist inspections, safety checklists, distributing radios, operating doors, weekly maintenance, and maintaining clear access and clean work areas. Strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Strong reading, written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish considered an asset.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the hoist and complete daily safety checks on all floors.
• Distribute Walkie Talkies to levels to aid communication.
• Open/close doors and install floor plate to bridge gaps.
• Perform weekly maintenance and apply lockout/tagout procedures.
• Keep access clear to hoist ramp and dumpsters; maintain cleanliness.
• Inspect handrails, overhead protection, and perimeter fence daily.
• Lock out power to the hoist at shift end.
• Gather Walkie Talkies and charge for next day.
