Job summary

The City of Cathedral City is seeking a skilled GIS professional to join on-site. The role focuses on developing and maintaining the City-wide GIS, coordinating with departments, and leading GIS projects. Candidates should have strong spatial analysis skills and experience with ArcGIS and databases.

Responsibilities include writing and testing GIS software, maintaining base maps, and training staff. This is an on-site position with a focus on municipal GIS excellence and customer-service support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, GIS, Geography, or related field.
• Two years of GIS experience, preferably in municipal government.
• Must possess a valid California Class C Driver's License and pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the City-wide Geographic Information System (GIS).
• Coordinate with City departments to support GIS applications for operations and customer service.
• Act as project leader for GIS assignments; perform high-level spatial analysis.
• Develop, write, test, and implement GIS software; perform complex database manipulation.
• Maintain City base map and related layers; assist in staff training; other duties as assigned.
