Job summary

Vassar & Company Properties is seeking experienced General Contractors to support renovation and construction projects across the Tampa Bay area. This is a 1099 contractor role with flexible, project-based scheduling, and assignments based on scope, timelines, and property needs.

Responsibilities include overseeing residential and light commercial work, coordinating subs and trades, ensuring compliance with codes, permits, and quality standards, and managing budgets through project completion.

Qualifications

• Valid Florida state General Contractor license.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Proven experience managing residential and/or light commercial construction projects.
• Ability to oversee renovations, remodels, and new construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, permitting, and inspections.
• Established network of subcontractors (preferred).
• Must have your own tools, equipment, and job site resources.
• Strong project management, budgeting, and communication skills.
• Reliable, professional, and able to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage residential and light commercial construction projects.
• Coordinate subcontractors, trades, and project timelines.
• Ensure all work meets local codes, permitting requirements, and quality standards.
• Manage budgets, materials, and project execution from start to finish.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure job site safety and cleanliness.
• Communicate progress updates, timelines, and any issues.
