Job summary

McWane, Inc. in Ohio is seeking a full-time on-site supervisor to direct production in melting, casting, and finishing operations within a ductile iron foundry serving the waterworks industry.

You will oversee daily activities of production workers, train and mentor staff, enforce safety and quality standards, and coordinate with other departments to meet objectives while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years leadership experience in heavy industry (foundry experience preferred).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Observes and enforces all Safety, Environmental, and Plant policies and procedures.
• Schedules, coordinates, and oversees the daily activities of production workers.
• Trains, develops, and mentors employees.
• Motivates and encourages teamwork with direct reports to ensure production objectives are met.
• Advises and counsels production workers on how to improve their performance and provides input on performance appraisals, training needs and disciplinary actions.
• Communicate and coordinate with other departments to achieve assigned objectives.
• Fosters a culture of continuous improvement.
• Holds self and others accountable to commitments.
• Ensures proper quality standards are maintained on products being produced.
• Determines work procedures, recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
• Keeps manager informed of problems as they arise.
