Job summary

Quaker Houghton is seeking a hands-on laboratory/maintenance assistant to support sampling, testing, and routine equipment maintenance at our Indianapolis sites. Daily tasks include recording results, data entry, chemical handling, and maintaining lab and production areas under site supervision.

The role involves on-site work with emphasis on EH&S standards, waste management, and adherence to company policies. A high school diploma and manufacturing experience are preferred for consideration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1 year manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in collection, analysis, testing and recording of machine samples.
• Perform bio-stick dip tests of all machine sumps and central systems.
• Assist in maintenance of coolant filters, washers, paint systems, air handling systems, etc., for sump changes and cleaning.
• Participate in addition of chemicals (coolants, greases, oils, lubricants, cleaners, biocides) as directed by site staff.
• Enter data for daily results into site software program.
• Maintain tools and utility equipment (pumps, sump suckers, coolant dispensers) in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assist in routine maintenance on all equipment and fluid systems (product additions, filter changes, sump cleaning).
• Assist in disposal of contaminated articles (pails, gloves, samples) per prescribed measures, including waste management and recycling initiatives.
• Assist in maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment (scales, pH meters, glassware, incubators) per site control plan.
• General cleaning of oil storage rooms, laboratory, equipment and production floor areas (chipping, mopping, sweeping, trash).
• Support site staff with organization initiatives (inventory, storage, labeling).
• Comply with all company policies (Code of Conduct, expense reporting, etc.).
• Own an individual development plan (IDP) as agreed with direct line manager.
