Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Facilities Project Engineer to provide day-to-day project coordination and technical support for facility planning, design, renovation, and construction projects. Qualifications

• 0-3 years of experience in construction, engineering, architecture, facilities, or project management.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, U.S. citizenship required.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers in planning and execution of capital improvement, renovation, tenant improvement, and infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate project activities throughout planning, design, procurement, construction, occupancy, and closeout.
• Track project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and action items.
• Assist in preparing project documentation, reports, presentations, and executive briefings.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
• Review design documents for completeness and constructability.
• Participate in design reviews, site walks, progress meetings, and inspections.
• Assist in resolving field issues and documenting project decisions.
• Assist with project estimates, cost tracking, purchase requisitions, and invoice reviews.
• Monitor project expenditures and identify potential budget variances.
• Support change order review and documentation.
• Maintain project financial records and supporting documentation.
• Maintain project schedules and milestone tracking.
• Coordinate project deliverables across multiple stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress and identify schedule risks.
• Assist in developing recovery plans when milestones are at risk.
• Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and action-item logs.
• Coordinate communication between project teams, facility occupants, vendors, and leadership.
• Provide regular project status updates.
• Maintain organized project files and records.
• Coordinate turnover documentation including as-built drawings, warranties, O&M manuals, and commissioning documentation.
• Support project closeout activities and lessons learned sessions.
