Triumvirate Environmental is seeking an Environmental Specialist to join our Lab & Onsite Support Services team on-site at client locations in College Park, MD and Laurel, MD. You will manage hazardous waste programs and projects, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while supporting clients in higher education, life sciences, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the hazardous-waste industry.
• Ability to work as a member of a team as well as individually.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities to interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and implement strategies.
• Skilled in building strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Willingness to work overtime.
• Willingness to work flexible hours (Mon–Fri).
• Able to complete a 2–3 year advancement program in hazardous waste management.
• Safety-sensitive role with PPE requirements.
• Must report to the office within 1 hour during Emergency Response shifts.
• Valid US driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Consent to background checks and drug screening.
• Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Able to lift 60 pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of OSHA regulations and Triumvirate's Health and Safety practices.
• Prepare chemical and biological waste for shipment, and manage waste paperwork.
• Safely handle hazardous waste containers on client sites and assist with loading/unloading.
• Conduct safety equipment and hazardous waste inspections.
• Occasionally perform EHS audits for clients.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and innovative solutions.
• Develop regulatory expertise (RCRA, DOT, OSHA).
• Conduct spill response assessments and cleanup.
• Rotate on-call responsibilities as part of Emergency Response team.
