Job summary

Owens Corning seeks an Environmental, Health, & Safety Specialist to support safety and environmental compliance at the Aiken, SC plant. You will partner with plant leadership to foster ownership and accountability for a Safer Together culture on site.

You will lead initiatives to drive zero injuries, ensure permit compliance, and provide regulatory guidance while maintaining robust recordkeeping and supporting safety design reviews for equipment projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Environmental, Safety, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Safety and Environmental Responsibilities & Drive a Safer Together culture.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and environmentally compliant work environment for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Lead Environmental and Safety Initiatives to drive towards zero injuries, non-conformities and NOVs.
• Set and accomplish critical environmental metrics to ensure continuous improvement.
• Authority to stop work or escape conditions that pose safety or environmental compliance risk.
• Drive Environmentally-related permit compliance (e.g., EPA Title V, wastewater, storm water, SPCC).
• Maintain environmental and safety recordkeeping to satisfy permit requirements.
• Provide regulatory guidance to facility leadership and operations personnel.
• Review or update policies to align with regulatory changes.
• Interact with outside consultants/contractors on regulatory compliance.
