Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking an experienced IT professional to join Department 475’s network team in Groton. The role focuses on configuring and maintaining the LAN, including routers, Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco switches, and TACLANE encryptors, with emphasis on security and availability across the NNPP Net.

The position requires regular on-site work with possible travel to other campuses, and the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.
• 2+ years of engineering experience post graduation supporting IT infrastructure across multiple locations.
• Experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies.
• Experience cabling and testing, troubleshooting, and repairing copper and fiber issues.
• Knowledge of TACACS, 802.1x/MAB, SNMP, NetFlow, Syslog, DNS, DHCP, Data networking, and enterprise network design.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure network routers, firewalls (Palo Alto) and managed switches (Cisco).
• Install TACLANE encryptors and participate in campus fiber projects.
• Collaborate on cyber security initiatives including network firewalls and patching.
• Lead network-related projects across teams.
• Perform network security patching and vulnerability management.
• Travel to Groton and other locations as needed to support network infrastructure.
