Job summary

Signalink, Inc. seeks a Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer in Huntsville, AL to design, prototype, and integrate mission equipment for Department of Defense applications.

You will perform 3D CAD modeling, create detailed drawings, and develop Technical Data Packages while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team at the prototype facility. You will work hands-on through the complete design lifecycle, support manufacturing readiness, and ensure on-site integration at the government facility.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• 3-6 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience developing mechanical designs for DoD systems, platforms, or equipment.
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling.
• Experience creating engineering drawings for fabrication and manufacturing.
• Experience supporting prototype development, fabrication, integration, or manufacturing.
• Knowledge of engineering drawing practices, GD&T, configuration control, and technical data development.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary Government/contractor engineering team.
• Ability to work full-time on-site at Government facility.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs for DoD systems, subsystems, assemblies, and equipment.
• Develop and evaluate design concepts based on system requirements, interfaces, operational constraints, and manufacturability.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
• Develop and maintain Technical Data Packages (TDPs), including drawings, BOMs, specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Perform mechanical design and packaging of components, structures, mounting provisions, and related hardware.
• Apply GD&T and appropriate engineering drawing standards.
• Support prototype fabrication, assembly, integration, and manufacturing activities.
• Work with machinists, fabricators, technicians, and other engineering disciplines to resolve issues.
• Evaluate prototype hardware and incorporate lessons learned into design iterations.
• Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and IPT activities.
• Coordinate mechanical interfaces with electrical, systems, manufacturing, and integration personnel.
• Support configuration management and documentation of design changes.
• Provide responsive engineering support during prototype build and integration activities.
