Job summary

ViaPath Technologies is seeking a Criminal Digital Forensic Analyst to perform forensic data extraction from legally seized cellular devices and analyze the data to support investigations. You will work on-site at customer locations in Rancho Cordova, CA, collaborating with investigators and staff while maintaining confidentiality and complying with policies and procedures.

Preferred candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree (or 4 years of related experience) and 2+ years in digital/cellular

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; four years of related experience or combination of education/experience acceptable.
• Minimum 2 years in Digital/Cellular Forensics, Intel reporting and analysis, and investigative work.
• Ability to obtain/retain forensic certifications including logical and physical data extractions and chip-off techniques.
• Existing Cellebrite/MSAB experience and certifications preferred.
• Ability to learn ViaPath and third-party software within six months.

Responsibilities

• Perform data extraction and data analysis on electronic evidence.
• Adhere to policies and industry best practices for handling electronic evidence.
• Obtain and retain forensic certifications; apply extraction techniques.
• Analyze data to identify trends and areas of interest for investigations.
• Support investigations with specialized software for forensic data extraction, mining, and link analysis.
• Prepare detailed reports for supervisors and facility investigators.
• Participate in court or related hearings as required.
