Job summary

Equipment Depot Inc. seeks a field service technician to operate, repair and maintain large diesel lift trucks on customer sites. You will inspect equipment, diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs to meet customer specifications.

You will document repair work, communicate with customers, and ensure safety checks on guards and devices. A clean driving record and OSHA 10 certification are required, with on-site travel to client locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2+ years with heavy equipment preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record.
• Ability to pass OSHA 10 course and site-specific training.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and operates heavy equipment.
• Reads work orders and observes truck operation to diagnose problems.
• Offers solutions and provides estimates when appropriate.
• Performs mechanical repairs after inspection and breakdown analysis.
• Records repair details on work orders with correct model, serial number and hour meter readings.
• Communicates repair needs and completed work to customers.
• Inspects guards, bolts and safety devices; makes adjustments as needed.
• Lubricates moving parts and tests repaired trucks for conformance to specifications.
• Represents Equipment Depot to customers with professional image of service trucks.
• Tracks and schedules routine maintenance with operations or service manager.
• Submits time cards daily and returns complete paperwork to field service coordinator.
• Must be able to pass frequent on-site random drug tests.
