Job summary

Skin and Cancer Institute in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Back Office Medical Assistant to support clinicians in dermatology procedures, patient intake, and medical record accuracy. You will assist with biopsies, injections, wound care, and post-procedure instructions while maintaining sterile techniques and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have strong clinical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication with patients and team members.
• EHR and MS Office proficiency required.
• Knowledge of dermatology terminology and procedures preferred.
• Experience with injections and minor surgical assistance beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient care and clinical procedures.
• Prepare patients for exams, histories, and explain procedures.
• Document patient care accurately in medical records.
• Support dermatology procedures (biopsies, excisions, phototherapy).
• Maintain sterile technique and infection control practices.
• Manage scheduling, check-ins, and prior authorizations.
• Handle prescriptions verification during visits.
• Educate patients on post-procedure care and sunscreen use.
