Job summary

American Public Life Insurance Company seeks a Deputy Chief Security Officer to align physical and technical security across facilities and personnel. You will work closely with the CSO to drive security strategy for headquarters, field offices, and executive residences, while safeguarding data and systems.

You will lead incident response, policy development, and compliance oversight, coordinating with law enforcement and stakeholders. This role requires on-site presence in Oklahoma City.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; commensurate work experience acceptable in lieu of degree.
• 7-10 years of experience required.
• Extensive knowledge of technical and physical security and risk management for organizations, individuals, technology and data.
• Demonstrated ability to manage both personnel and programs addressing organizational governance and security.
• Incident management and response knowledge, experience and capabilities.
• Familiarity with Governance, Risk and Compliance to support security.
• Strong Microsoft Office knowledge including PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.
• Awareness of security to protect the organization’s information confidentiality.
• Ability to liaise with outside agencies including law enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Integrate physical security needs with technical security needs.
• Work with the CSO to establish and implement security strategy for AFA facilities and personnel.
• Assist with securing technical systems and data.
• Serve as CSO’s representative when CSO is unavailable.
• Develop, implement and review security policies, standards and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, MAR, and SOC II Type 2 obligations.
• Direct and manage incident response requirements for security-related situations.
• Provide leadership to educate and promote security awareness.
• Lead personnel and programs addressing security functions.
• Maintain knowledge of threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigations.
• Prepare and present security reports to senior leadership and boards.
• Coordinate with Cameron Entities, AFPC, Family Office needs.
• Assist in managing security budget.
