Job summary
Reboot Monkey is seeking a Data Center Technician in Latham, NY to support critical infrastructure at a world-class data center facility. This full-time, on-site role focuses on server and network equipment installation, cabling, and operations.
You will work with engineering and operations teams to monitor power, cooling, and security systems, perform deployments and decommissions, and ensure accurate asset documentation. Certification sponsorship and professional development are available.
Qualifications
- 3+ years data center operations experience.
- Expert cabling skills including Cat6/6a and fiber types.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with rack and stack operations.
- Understanding of power distribution and UPS systems.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Vendor certifications (Dell, HPE, Cisco) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain server and network equipment.
- Perform structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
- Execute hardware deployments and decommissions.
- Monitor environmental systems (power, cooling, security).
- Respond to incidents and perform troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate documentation and asset tracking.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams.
- Participate in capacity planning and upgrades.
