Job summary

Reboot Monkey in Troy, NY seeks an experienced Data Center Technician for a full-time on-site role supporting mission-critical infrastructure at premier facilities. You will install, decommission, and migrate hardware, perform structured cabling, and rack/label servers while troubleshooting issues and documenting work.

On-site with on-call rotation and career growth opportunities. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in data centers or IT infrastructure, strong cabling skills, server hardware

Qualifications

• 2+ years data center or IT infrastructure experience.
• Strong cabling skills (Cat5e/6/6a, single-mode/multi-mode fiber).
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on-site.
• Professional communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations.
• Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Conduct server racking, stacking, and labeling.
• Perform cross-connects and patch panel work.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues.
• Document all work with photos and detailed notes.
• Coordinate with remote NOC and client teams.
