Job summary

Reboot Monkey seeks an experienced Data Center Technician for on-site freelance work in Eugene, OR. You will support mission-critical facilities with hardware installs, migrations, and cabling.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in data centers, solid server hardware knowledge, and strong English communication. Certifications and DCIM familiarity are preferred; lifting and on-site travel required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years data center or IT infrastructure experience required.
• Strong cabling skills (Cat5e/6/6a) and server hardware familiarity.
• Data center certifications (CDCP/CDCS or similar) and network certs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations
• Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic)
• Conduct server racking, stacking, and labeling
• Perform cross‑connects and patch panel work
• Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues
• Document all work with photos and detailed notes
• Coordinate with remote NOC and client teams
• Own transportation and ability to work on‑site
