Job summary

Reboot Monkey is seeking a Data Center Technician in Silver Spring, MD for a full-time, on-site role managing servers, networks, and cabling in a world-class data center facility.

The position requires 3+ years in data center operations, expertise in structured cabling (Cat6/6a, OM3/OM4/OS2 fiber), and strong troubleshooting. On-site work with on-call rotation and shift differentials may apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of data center operations experience.
• Expert in Cat6/6a and OM3/OM4/OS2 fiber cabling.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in demanding environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server and network equipment
• Perform structured cabling (copper and fiber optic)
• Execute hardware deployments and decommissions
• Monitor environmental systems (power, cooling, security)
• Respond to incidents and perform troubleshooting
• Maintain accurate documentation and asset tracking
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams
• Participate in capacity planning and upgrades
• 3+ years data center operations experience
• Expert cabling skills (Cat6/6a, OM3/OM4/OS2 fiber)
• Vendor and equipment coordination as needed
