Job summary

EXOS is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Lead in Evansville, IN to own and operate the client’s cybersecurity program on-site. You will direct a small EXOS team, translate risk into business decisions, and drive the security roadmap with a hands-on, mentor-first leadership style.

You will serve as the primary point of contact for client leadership and IT staff, coordinate with EXOS SOC/MDR partners, and ensure containment, remediation, and recovery during incidents while maintaining

Qualifications

• 8+ years of cybersecurity experience across operations, IR, engineering or program leadership.
• 2+ years of leading people or programs; MSP/MSSP or multi-client experience preferred.
• Ability to independently lead complex investigations and incidents to resolution.
• Strong command of EDR, SIEM, and security telemetry.
• Hands-on enterprise identity, endpoint security, MFA and conditional access controls.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-site cybersecurity lead and primary client contact for Evansville environment.
• Lead and develop the EXOS cybersecurity team; set priorities and coach analysts.
• Own the security program and roadmap; assess against CJIS and regulatory controls.
• Lead incident response for on-site incidents with containment, eradication, and recovery guidance.
• Coordinate with EXOS SOC/MDR partners to close loops on detections and playbooks.
• Manage vulnerability and exposure assessment; track findings and risk decisions.
• Partner with client IT for IAM security, MFA, and privileged access hygiene.
• Plan, design, and implement security projects with timely, well-communicated handoffs.
• Lead security awareness, phishing simulations, tabletop exercises, and IR plan development.
• Author client-facing narratives and reports for leadership, boards, and councils.
