Job summary

SAIC is seeking a skilled Cyber Network Defense Analyst to join the MAJESTIC JPO team for an on-premises enterprise IT environment in Springfield, VA. The role involves assessing systems and networks to ensure compliance and defend mission-critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities include evaluating incident response readiness, exploiting vulnerabilities for data gathering, and maintaining detailed security documentation in a complex Windows/Linux, SQL/Oracle environment.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience performing security audits, compliance assessments, or CND in an enterprise IT environment.
• Proficiency with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-53, RMF, ICD 503).
• Experience with CND tools and technologies (Splunk, Nessus, ACAS).
• Solid understanding of Windows/Linux security configurations and enterprise networks.
• Familiarity with incident response procedures and database security (SQL Server/Oracle).

Responsibilities

• Perform assessments of systems and networks to identify deviations from configurations and policies.
• Evaluate incident response procedures and capabilities for readiness.
• Exploit vulnerabilities and misconfigurations to gather data for operations and intelligence.
• Monitor and analyze to detect exploitation, unauthorized activity, or suspicious patterns.
• Maintain detailed documentation of investigations, findings, and remediation plans.
• Collaborate with Systems Administrators, Network Engineers, and Cybersecurity personnel to address risks.
