Job summary

Orion Placement in Beaufort, SC is seeking a CPA with 2+ years of public accounting experience to join our on-site team. You will prepare and review individual and business tax returns and collaborate with clients to identify planning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license, preferably in SC or transferable.
• 2+ years of public accounting experience.
• Experience preparing both individual and business income tax returns.
• Strong accounting knowledge including financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online or Desktop.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with clients.
• Experience with tax planning, multistate returns, reviews, or compilations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual and business income tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1065, 1120-S, and 1120.
• Partner directly with clients to understand their financial needs and identify valuable tax planning opportunities.
• Review monthly financial statements, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity to ensure accuracy.
• Assist with financial statement reviews, compilations, and ongoing accounting engagements.
• Collaborate with bookkeeping and tax professionals to deliver timely, high-quality client service.
• Help improve accounting processes, manage deadlines, and support junior team members as needed.
