Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid medical license in the state where services are provided.
• Current Board Certification.
• Current DEA registration.
• Collaborative agreement if required by state.
• Experience in primary care, corrections, or managed health care delivery.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a motor vehicle.
• BLS certification; hands-on training required.

Responsibilities

• Perform problem-focused, individualized medical assessments.
• Be on-site at the correctional facility on a regular basis.
• Document dates and times of provided site coverage in the payroll system.
• Provide 24/7 on-call phone services.
• Prescribe medication and treatment within prescriptive authority.
• Review patient medical records and sign off on orders.
• Coordinate off-site care when appropriate with medical staff.
