Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies, founded in 1923, is a leading distributor of maintenance supplies. The Rubber Shop Mechanic role involves customizing belts and rubber components to customer specifications, in-house or on customer sites, with extensive training and ongoing support.

You will build and repair belts, verify parts, maintain stock, and follow safety rules while lifting up to 75 pounds and possibly working overtime or weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong mechanical background essential.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Overtime hours and weekend work may be required.
• Basic math skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Maintenance or belt tech experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and repair belts and rubber components.
• Fabricate, install and repair conveyor belting and rubber products.
• Receive and verify incoming parts, materials, and supplies.
• Maintain stock area and prepare sales orders.
• Pick up and deliver orders, stock, and supplies.
• Follow safety rules and maintain a neat work area.
• Exercise proper care in the use of tools and equipment.
• Detect and report defective equipment or unusual conditions.
