Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent; directly related work experience considered in lieu of a degree.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; AutoCAD Electrical and/or EPLAN preferred.
• Knowledge of UL 508A, NEC, and NEMA standards.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience in control panel design.

Responsibilities

• Develop schematics, bills of materials, and assembly drawings using AutoCAD.
• Provide guidance and support to manufacturing and other areas regarding product requirements.
• Participate in and provide training for other engineering team members.
• Study and analyze project technical documents and specifications.
• Apply thorough understanding of relevant electrical standards to prevent electrical hazards.
• Communicate progress and deviations from schedule or budget to colleagues, managers, and clients.
• Estimate time, cost, labor, and materials required for production; reformulate plans based on circumstances.
• Adhere to best practices for documentation and version control.
• Define design approach for new products and platforms and generate design specifications.
• Prepare accurate field notes, sketches, and single-line diagrams for use in construction documents.
• Make design decisions based on job requirements and prepare complete design packages.
• Release panels and prints to operations and release critical materials for purchasing.
• Ensure product designs meet requirements, quality expectations, and timelines.
• Mark up schematics and generate revisions or additions to existing drawing sets.
• Process markups affecting multiple drawings and ensure consistency.
• Check markups for practicality, obstructions, and accuracy using multi-layer techniques.
• Create, revise, and maintain routings and work centers in the system.
• Update metrics to improve routing and production planning accuracy.
• Maintain revision control and execute SAP tasks.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
