Job summary

WSU Tech is seeking a Construction industry trainer to deliver hands-on, industry-aligned training at a partner site in Wichita. The 8-week modular program covers safety, framing basics, squaring and plumbing walls, window installation, and siding, teaching to modular manufacturing standards.

You will build a safe, structured shop environment for trainees of mixed skill levels, track competency, and report outcomes with Training & Workforce Innovation staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• OSHA 10-hour required.
• NCCER Core or NCCER Craft Instructor certification preferred.
• At least 3 years of hands-on industry experience in residential construction, modular construction, or carpentry.
• Experience training, mentoring, or supervising crews or apprentices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on curriculum in sequence.
• Adapt instruction for mixed experience levels.
• Track trainee competency completion.
• Safety and shop management.
