Job summary

Burkentine and Sons Builders Inc is seeking an on-site Superintendent to supervise and coordinate all phases of Multi-Family and Custom Home construction projects. You will be responsible for maintaining strict adherence to plans, specs, and local codes to ensure timely project completion.

Primary duties include scheduling, coordinating subcontractors, conducting daily huddles, and ensuring quality control while liaising with the project team on RFIs, ASIs, and material submittals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency preferred.
• 3+ years verifiable experience as a Superintendent with knowledge of trades.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Generate, manage, coordinate, and execute an overall project schedule.
• Generate, manage, coordinate, and execute a 3-week look-ahead schedule that nests with the overall project schedule.
• Schedule self-performance activities, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in the critical path.
• Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings to coordinate the work.
• Conduct Daily Work Huddles each morning with Burkentine and subcontractor personnel.
• Perform quality control duties regarding the work performed.
• Communicate with the project team regarding ASIs, RFIs, and Material Submittals.
• Understand subcontracted scope and ensure compliance by subcontractors.
• Coordinate and participate in required inspections with local jurisdictions.
• Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
• Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them for resolution.
• Maintain daily written log of site activities.
• Ensure deficiencies are corrected by subcontractors.
• Walk all units daily to monitor activities and assist in planning.
