Job summary

McHugh Concrete Construction, Inc. in the Greater Chicago Area is seeking a Safety Manager to oversee project safety, develop accident prevention programs, and promote a proactive safety culture on site.

The role emphasizes coaching workers, enforcing OSHA standards, conducting inspections, investigating incidents, and reporting outcomes in a timely manner to maintain a safe, healthy work environment.

Qualifications

• Four-year occupational safety/health degree preferred.
• Experience in construction/industrial safety.
• Knowledge of OSHA, MSHA and other safety guidelines.
• Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in high production environments (50+ hours).
• OSHA 30-hour and First Aid/CPR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety guidance to project staff and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Develop and promote a safety culture on each project.
• Inspect job sites, identify hazards, and enforce safety procedures.
• Investigate incidents and document outcomes promptly.
• Issue permits and assist with safety training and orientation.
