Job summary

Safety Worxs is seeking an experienced Project Safety Assistant to lead all on-site safety efforts on a large-scale building construction project. The role focuses on proactive risk management and full compliance with OSHA construction standards and project safety protocols.

Responsibilities include conducting field inspections, hazard assessments, incident investigations, and coordinating safety meetings. The PSA will review JHAs, permits, and subcontractor safety docs while supporting safety

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 consecutive years dedicated solely to building construction safety experience.
• Bachelor's degree in construction safety with at least 1 year field experience if only 4-year degree is held.
• OSHA 510, 500 or 502 certification current within 5 years; CPR/First Aid certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site safety efforts for a large-scale building construction project.
• Conduct daily field inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits.
• Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Support safety orientations, toolbox talks, and weekly safety meetings.
• Review JHAs, permits, and subcontractor safety documentation.
• Monitor high-risk activities and enforce safety requirements in the field.
• Maintain safety documentation and reporting; stop-work authority when unsafe conditions arise.

Education

B.S./B.A. in Construction Safety

OSHA 510/500/502 certification (current within 5 years)

CSP or CHST certification
