Job summary

Environmental And Safety Solutions, Inc. seeks an on-site Construction Safety Associate for a large commercial renovation/expansion project in Dearborn, MI.

You will lead EH&S activities, perform daily safety audits, coordinate with management and contractors, and ensure OSHA compliance across multiple disciplines. You will deliver safety orientations, facilitate toolbox talks, and develop safety reports while maintaining accurate logs and records for regulatory inspections.

Qualifications

• Well-rounded construction safety experience across general construction incl. civil/structural/mechanical/electrical.
• Experience supporting commercial construction, building renovations, or facility expansion projects.
• Experience working with construction management teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and hazard identification practices.
• Experience delivering safety orientations, facilitating safety meetings, and communicating safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site safety leadership and support for construction/renovation activities.
• Coordinate with project management, EH&S personnel, and contractors for regulatory and policy compliance.
• Conduct daily formal safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and verify corrective actions.
• Monitor activities across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and general construction disciplines.
• Serve as a technical safety resource and advisor to project leadership.
• Deliver site-specific safety orientations for new workers and visitors.
• Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions to promote hazard awareness.
• Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors, communicate findings, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit safety reports documenting inspection findings, incidents, and observations.
• Maintain safety logs, inspection records, incident documentation, and project safety files.
• Assist with OSHA compliance activities, regulatory inspections, and OSHA log management.
• Support incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and implementation of corrective measures.
• Coordinate with contractors and project teams to address safety concerns and maintain compliance.
• Promote proactive safety culture across active work areas including renovations and expansions.
