Job summary

Turner Construction Company, Kansas City office, is seeking an Entry-level Environmental Health and Safety professional to assist enforcing safety policies on construction projects in Kansas City, MO. This role supports hazard identification, training, and safety program administration to protect workers and property.

Based in Kansas City, this non-remote position collaborates with project teams, reviews subcontractor safety plans, maintains records, and promotes Building LIFE and OSHA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or related field with 1 year of safety experience.
• Basic knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques.
• Familiar with EH&S regulations at federal, state, and local levels.
• Ability to identify safety exposures and propose corrective actions.
• Strong verbal and written communication; leadership and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist with training for safe work practices and EH&S programs on construction projects.
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance with regs and owner requirements.
• Promote safe work practices and safe working conditions.
• Coordinate preconstruction meetings with supervisor.
• Maintain safety records (PTPs, JHAs, logs, MSDS).
• Conduct safety meetings and issue minutes.
• Support worker orientation and onboarding.
• Assist in creating PTPS and JHAs for contractors.
• Other duties as assigned.
