Job summary

ECC's on-site internship at Naval Station Norfolk / Virginia Beach invites a junior or senior undergraduate student in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field to join a major federal construction project.

This 40-hour per week, summer 2027 position provides hands-on experience supporting project management, field operations, quality control, and construction administration on a new parking garage and NATO Command Building.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced field environment.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Manager, Superintendent, and Quality Control staff with daily construction operations.
• Assist with project documentation, reporting, and field inspections.
• Attend project coordination meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
• Track project progress and support schedule updates; assist with subcontractor coordination and field communication.
• Support preparation and organization of project records, logs, and closeout documentation.
• Observe and promote project safety and quality standards.
