Job summary

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) is seeking Construction Inspectors to support highway projects in Lynchburg, VA. These on-site roles require 3-7 years for standard inspectors or 7-10+ years for mid-senior levels.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in materials, standards, and specifications related to VDOT projects and facilities required.
• Read and interpret roadway, structure and bridge plans and specifications.
• Ability to use contract management software and MS Office.
• Must have a valid Driver's License and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the work of contractors to ensure quality and contract compliance on roadway, structure, and bridge projects.
• Inspect and monitor field work including excavations, drainage, road surfaces and structures.
• Observe and document contractor’s daily production rates.
• Schedule work and inspection phases with contractor and agency personnel.
• Maintain project records, daily diaries, pay quantity records, and monthly estimates.
• Review and test construction materials and measurements.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and DBE requirements.
