Job summary

North Wind Group seeks a Construction Inspector to provide on-site inspection support for USACE projects in Knoxville, TN (also Denver, CO or Las Vegas, NV). You will observe facility, utility, site, and infrastructure work and document conformance with approved plans, specs, safety requirements, and schedules.

The role requires a 4+ year track record in construction inspection, a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, strong report writing, and the ability to obtain required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of four (4) years of relevant construction inspection/quality control experience.
• Experience interpreting drawings, specs, submittals, RFIs, schedules, and test reports.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, sequencing, QC practices, and site safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and milestone inspections of active construction projects.
• Review drawings, specs, submittals, RFIs, schedules, and required tests.
• Observe conformance with contract documents and approved practices.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and required forms.
• Document staffing, equipment, materials, weather, progress, tests, safety observations, and follow-up actions.
• Identify deficiencies to the Government representative and track corrective actions.
• Observe testing, startup, commissioning, punch-list, and closeout activities.
• Review material deliveries and verify consistency with submittals and project requirements.
• Support review of submittals, RFIs, substitutions, schedules, redlines, and records.
